Dr. Ong Guang Hong graduated in 2008 with Doctor in Medicine from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. He started practicing in Sabah in 2008. He obtained Doctor of General Surgery from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2017. He worked as a General Surgeon after graduation in Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He started his sub-specialty training in fellowship of HPB surgery under Ministry of Health, Malaysia in 2020, and granted the opportunity as clinical observer at Liver transplant and HPB surgery, Institute of Liver Study, King's College Hospital, United Kingdom. He completed the subspecialty training in 2024. He was consultant HPB Surgeon in Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah, then currently serving as Consultant HPB and General Surgeon in Department of General Surgery, Hospital Queen Elizabeth, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. His fields of specialization and interest includes general surgery, HPB surgery, Minimally invasive surgery and ERCP. Dr. Ong is an active and dedicated life member of Malaysia Society of HPB Surgeons(MyHPBS) , member of Royal College of Surgeon Edinburgh, member of Asia Pacific Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (A-PHPBA), member of International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (IHPBA) and Vice President of Sabah Surgical Society (SSS) from 2025-2026.
