Dr. Lai Chung Ket is a Consultant General Surgeon who serves as the Head of the Surgical Department at the Duchess of Kent Hospital in Sandakan. He is also the Head of the Clinical Research Centre and the Head of the Endoscopy Unit at the hospital. Additionally, he is a member of the development group for the Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) on foreign body ingestion in children, a member of the National Post-Operative Mortality Assessors, and a member of the National Wound Committee. Dr. Lai is highly interested in global surgery research, laparoscopic and endoscopic surgery, cancer screening and prevention programs, and wound management. He actively participates in numerous global surgery and endoscopic outreach programs in the rural areas of Sabah and regularly presents his work at international conferences.
