Getting to Kota Kinabalu

Welcome to Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) is Malaysia’s second busiest airport, handling 98% of visitor arrivals into Sabah. As the state capital, Kota Kinabalu serves as the main gateway, with several budget and full-service airlines operating regular flights. Other towns in Sabah — including Sandakan, Lahad Datu, and Tawau — also have airports for domestic connections.
