General Guidelines

  • All accepted and shortlisted abstracts must submit their materials to compete for awards. Please refer to the table below for the requirements of each presentation format.
  • All materials must be uploaded through the Congress Abstract Submission Portal.
  • The deadline to submit your materials (poster, video, oral, presentation slides) is 30th June 2026, late submission will not be entertained.
  • In order for your abstract to be finalised and recognised for publications, you MUST register and make full payment to SSC26-MUGIS Conference before 30th June 2026.
  • The final presentation format of all reviewed abstracts is made final. Changes of presentation format is not permitted even if it differs from your initial submission.
  • The winners will be announced at the Award and Closing ceremony on 11 September 2026. We encourage all presenters to stay until the end of the ceremony.

  • Kindly be informed that only 15 shortlisted abstracts will be selected for oral presentation. The list of selected abstracts will be announced closer to the congress date.
  • We encourage all authors to attend the congress and be prepared to present if their abstract is selected for presentation. Abstracts that are not shortlisted for oral presentation will be converted to poster presentation/display.
  • The oral presentation will take place on the 11 September 2026, time to be announced.

Notes:
  • Kindly be informed that only 10 shortlisted abstracts will be selected for video presentation. The list of selected abstracts will be announced closer to the congress date.
  • We encourage all authors to attend the congress and be prepared to present if their abstract is selected for presentation. Abstracts that are not shortlisted for video presentation will be converted to poster presentation/display.
  • The video presentation will take place on the 11 September 2026, time to be announced.
  • Video abstract presenters must submit the original video or its link upon acceptance of their abstract

Eligibility Criteria

  1. All abstracts submitted must be written in English.
  2. The abstract title should not exceed 200 characters. Special characters should NOT be used in your title but to be spelt out instead (e.g. alpha should be written as alpha, beta as beta)
  3. The abstract should not exceed 300 words, which should include headings for Introduction, Methods, Results and Conclusion. Tables, graphs and images are not included in the word count.
  4. Abstracts should contain original material that has neither been published nor presented at another meeting at the time of submission. In addition, abstracts should not be submitted to meetings which take place before SSC26-MUGIS.
  5. Multiple abstracts based on the same study will be summarily rejected.
  6. Abstracts submitted must follow the abstract submission guidelines, instructions and required information as stated.
  7. Presenting authors of abstracts accepted for presentation MUST be registered delegates and be responsible for all expenses incurred in the production of their presentations, travel and accommodation during the conference.

Submission Guidelines

  1. Abstracts can only be submitted electronically through the registration platform on the official Conference website; no hardcopy is required.
  2. You are required to register before submitting your abstract.
  3. Please read the instructions carefully, as abstract submitted not according to these instructions will not be accepted. You may submit more than ONE abstract (please use the same registration account).
  4. Abstracts must be submitted by 30th June 2026@ 23:59 hrs (GMT+8). Late submissions will not be accepted.
  5. Your abstract will appear in print or electronically as submitted. Please ensure you check your proofread carefully before submitting.
  6. The presenting author will be the sole corresponding author accepted by the Congress and the primary one responsible for the contents of the study. The presenting author will be deemed to have taken consent from all the co-authors of the study.
  7. All Presenting Authors will receive detailed presentation guidelines via email when their abstract has been accepted and closer to the Congress date.
  8. Upon successfully submitting your abstract, you will receive an acknowledgement email.
  9. All submitted abstracts will undergo a peer-review process by a panel of expert reviewers. Accepted abstracts will be selected for either oral, e-poster and video presentation. The presentations should be delivered in-person as per registration. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to re-categorise any accepted abstract. The decision of the committee is final and irrevocable.
  10. Notification of acceptance will be sent via email by 22 August 2026.
  11. All submitted abstracts are editable until the submission deadline. No correction/s to the abstracts will be entertained after 30th June 2026.
  12. Judges’ decisions are final. No appeal will be entertained.
