Dato' DrImi Sairi bin Ab Hadi

Dato’ Dr Imi Sairi is a Consultant Breast and Endocrine Surgeon at Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II, Kota Bharu, Malaysia, and the National Head of Service for Breast and Endocrine Surgery, Ministry of Health Malaysia. He graduated with a Medical Degree in 1994 and obtained his Master of Surgery in 2001. He subsequently pursued a Fellowship in Breast and Endocrine Surgery under the Royal College of Surgeons of England, completed in 2006. With extensive experience in thyroid and endocrine surgery, his clinical interests include complex thyroid disease, thyroid malignancy, and challenging surgical emergencies. He is actively involved in national surgical training, subspecialty development, and improving breast and endocrine surgical services across Malaysia. For this presentation, he will share the Malaysian experience of Emergency Thyroidectomy, based on a 10-year multicentre experience involving nine breast and endocrine surgical centres, highlighting indications, challenges, surgical decision-making, outcomes, and lessons learned.
