Dr. Kelvin Voon is the head of division of surgery & a resident consultant at Sunway Medical Centre Penang, specialising in general surgery, upper gastrointestinal surgery & robotic surgery. He completed his surgical training in Malaysia, followed by fellowships in Esophagogastric Cancer Surgery in Shanghai and Bariatric Surgery in Taiwan. Formerly Head of Surgery at Penang General Hospital, he contributed to developing Upper GI and bariatric surgical services in northern Malaysia. He is the current vice president of Malaysian Upper GI Surgical Society (MUGIS) and the vice secretary for Malaysian Metabolic & Bariatric Surgical Society (MSMBS). His clinical interests include minimally invasive esophagogastrectomy, robotic surgery, advanced endoscopy, bariatric surgery & clinical nutrition.
