Dr. Chih-Kun Huang is working in China Medical University Hospital , Taiwan as the Director of Metabolic & Bariatric surgery department , Superintendent of In- ternaFonal Center, and also Superintendent of Body-science & Metabolic disorders International (B.M.I) Medical Center. Now he is clinical Professor of China Medical University. He is also is the President of Taiwan Obesity Support AssociaFon (T.O.S.A) and found- ing Chairman of InternaFonal Excellence FederaFon (I.E.F) for Bariatric & Metabolic Surgery. Dr Huang has been devoted to minimally invasive surgery and bariatric surgery for 25 years. He finished worldwide 1st single incision trans-umbilical laparoscopic Roux-en- Y gastric bypass in 2008 and Laparoscopic adjustable gastric banded plicaFon(LAGBP) in 2009 and Laparoscopic loop duodenojejunal bypass with sleeve gastrectomy (LDJB-SG) in 2010.A]er entering the field of RoboFc Surgery, his center made a world record of 100 Hugo RoboFc assisted bariatric surgeries in 100 days in 2025! “Sleeve Plus” a theory incorporaFng sleeve gastrectomy and small bowel bypass to create beaer weight loss and remission of comorbidiFes is also postulated by him. His center was designated as 1st InternaFonal Center of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery (I.C.E) in Asia-Pacific area in 2009. He is very keen in medical educaFon and research, that more than 170 internaFonal fellows from 18 countries were trained under him for bariatric and metabolic surgery in these 20 years, and just received the “Outstanding Mentor Award” in IFSO-APC meeFng 2025. He also has published more than 110 SCI papers Fll 2026. He is invited to lots of internaFonal meeFngs and congress in the world and also holds I.E.F Forum and Asia obesity walk biennially. He is also then congress president of IFSO-APC 2013 and APMBSS 2026.
