Dato' DrNik Ritza Kosai

Prof Dr Nik Ritza Kosai Nik Mahmood is a Consultant Upper Gastrointestinal, Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeon and the President of the Malaysian Metabolic and Bariatric Surgical Society (MMBSS). He is also the Head of the Upper Gastrointestinal, Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Unit at the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM). He has played a pivotal role in establishing HCTM as one of Malaysia’s leading centres for Upper GI cancer and bariatric surgery, with extensive experience in metabolic and obesity-related surgical management. His clinical and research interests include Upper GI cancers, bariatric and metabolic surgery, and Helicobacter pylori. With more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and extensive involvement in national and international surgical education, he continues to contribute significantly to the advancement of bariatric and upper GI surgery in Malaysia and beyond.
