Dr Hema Yamini graduated from Melaka-Manipal Medical College in 2008 and obtained her Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP), UK, in 2013. She completed subspecialty training in Respiratory Medicine at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kota Kinabalu, followed by a fellowship in Lung Cancer and Interventional Pulmonology at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Perth. She also completed a fellowship in Interventional Pulmonology at Nagoya Medical Center, Japan. She is currently Head of the Respiratory Department at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kota Kinabalu. Her clinical and academic interests include lung cancer and interventional pulmonology, with numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals. She has contributed to national Clinical Practice Guidelines in asthma and post-COVID-19 pneumonia, among others.
